We all know that breast is best. While breastfeeding in public is gaining traction as a normal and natural occurrence, it is still somewhat taboo. Here’s to all the celebrity moms who are all about breastfeeding in public and setting a great example for all of us:

1. Olivia Wilde

One of the latest celeb moms to share their public breastfeeding photo on social media is Olivia Wilde, aka, Ms. (soon to be) Jason Sudeikis. Her baby, Otis, is now 4 months old, and Olivia shared her experiences as a breastfeeding mom in the September issue of Glamour Magazine.

Along with the article is a stunning shot of a glamorous Olivia nursing a naked baby Otis in a NYC diner. Olivia revealed however, that she doesn’t usually look like a supermodel when she’s breastfeeding (and that baby Otis usually wears a diaper too!)

2. Miranda Kerr

Orlando Bloom’s ex wife (and recent cause of Bloom/Bieber drama), and Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr shared an extra glamorous selfie of herself nursing baby Flynn back in 2011. The picture featured Miranda in full makeup and hair, a white robe and red pumps. Miranda captioned the photo: “Another day in the office xxx.”

3. Julie Bowen

Showing us the true meaning of multi-tasking, actress Julie Bowen shared a photo on Lopez Tonight back in 2010 of herself nursing twins Jon and Gus at the same time. She also shared one hilarious reason for her love of breastfeeding: “It’s like two little liposuction machines on you. They suck the fat out of you.

They call it the ‘double football hold.’ You hold one here, and here [gesturing to her breasts], like two footballs . . . They’re doing God’s work right there, helping me return to my birth weight.”

4. Angelina Jolie

The super famous mom of six posed for W. Magazine shortly after giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne. Several shots of Angie nursing appeared in the magazine, including one on the cover. Angelina has also been very outspoken about her breastfeeding experience, saying:

“I had lost my mum, I’d had a baby, and I’d been breastfeeding, and I was in a very emotional place as a woman. I knew instinctually and talked to Brad about it, that if I could find something that would get me physical again, it would be like therapy, because everything was making me cry.”

5. MayimBialik

“Big Bang Theory” star MayimBialik is one of the most outspoken celebrity advocates of breastfeeding. The actress has even posted photos of herself nursing her 3 year old son Fred on an NYC subway. Mayim is a big advocate of attachment parenting and extended breastfeeding, and has written extensively on the subject.

She describes her experience with breastfeeding: “I have written about my now-3-year-old son Fred and his nursing rhythms before. To recap: Fred nursed for a solid 12 months with no supplements, no solid foods, and not even a sip of water.

He got the hang of eating solids around 18 months, but continued to nurse all day (with bottles of pumped breast milk when I was at work) and on demand all night. A typical night involved no less than four wake-ups and sometimes six (every two hours on the clock for 12 hours of bed time was not unusual). This went on for almost three years.”
